2020 Key Dates

With the new year upon us, we’re starting to look ahead to 2020. We’ve got plenty of exciting activity planned at The H Boutique Hotel throughout the year, but there’s also plenty of events coming up in and around Bakewell for you to attend.

Here’s a few events that we’re particularly excited for…

Bakewell Food Festival- Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th April 2020

 It’s not just Bakewell Puddings we have to offer! Bakewell Food Festival showcases a host of locally sourced produce for you to sink your teeth into, with around 100 different stalls to explore.

If the food and drink isn’t enough to entice you to visit Bakewell during this glorious weekend, entertainment for the whole family will also be on offer.

Tour of the Peak Sportive Sunday 10th May 

This classic sportive, named after and on the same route as the original Tour of the Peak road race which ran from 1943 through to 2005. Follow in the wheel tracks of some of the top original British bike racers that have graced these roads. There are two routes start which from Bakewell Showground, giving you beautiful surroundings to start and finish your day.

15 May 2020 – 17 May 2020.  - Dodson & Horrell International Horse Trials

From elegant dressage to show jumping, this three day event is a thrilling display of world-class equestrian sport at Chatsworth House.

Alongside the world-class competition on show, there will be a shopping village onsite and a range of family friendly activities yet to be announced. The house, garden, farmyard and playground will remain open for you to discover too.

Peak Model Railway Exhibition- Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June 2020

The 2020 Peak Model Railway Exhibition again takes place at our established venue in Bakewell, the friendly town at the heart of the Peak District. The venue has step free access with a completely flat floor and is surrounded by a large pay and display car park. On site are a cafe and bar with the town centre being a short level walk away with many shops, cafes and pubs. Bakewell is well served by frequent bus services from the surrounding cities, towns and villages.

The Cow Shed Beer Festival- Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st June

After a successful 2018 launch at the Bakewell Agricultural Business Centre, the Cow Shed will this year showcase around 40 ales from within 30 miles of the popular market town, plus local cider, food stalls and live music.

11-14 June 2020 - The RHS Flower Show

 Another annual Chatsworth event attended by many visitors from across the UK, the RHS Flower Show is a highlight of summer in the Peak District, giving attendees gardening inspiration in the beautiful setting of the Chatsworth grounds.

Expect knowledgeable exhibitors, workshops, garden shopping, and of course, all the usual delights that Chatsworth brings.

Saturday 27th June to Sunday 5th July 2020 - Bakewell Carnival Week

 Thousands of visitors flock to Bakewell every year for this vibrant week of activity, with fun activities for all to enjoy such as the ever popular duck race across the River Wye!

Carnival Week is a great event to spend some family time during the summer, and the traditional town of Bakewell makes for a beautiful setting to take part in all the activities involved.

Friday 21st August to Sunday 23th August 2020 - Peakender

 If you’re a real ale connoisseur, the annual Thornbridge Peakender is a must. The weekend brings plenty of opportunity to try beer offerings from local and global breweries, whilst being entertained by live music.

There will also be the chance to attend unique workshops and events such as beer yoga and chocolate and beer pairing!

Chatsworth Country Fair 4 September 2020 – 6 September 2020  

Chatsworth Country Fair is one of England's most spectacular annual outdoor events. With a packed programme of grand ring entertainment, a cookery theatre and fine food village, there are lots to see and do. In the showground, you can try your hand at heritage country sports, rural country crafts, and admire the vintage and military vehicles on display.

Bakewell Christmas Market Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd November 2020

A traditional quintessential English Christmas market with around 80 stalls, Father Christmas and entertainment around the town.

Chatsworth Christmas Market 13 November to 1 December 2020
