Four Peak District walks to enjoy this spring

8 March 2019

Over the past few weeks we’ve seen many people out and about in the Peak District, enjoying the warmer weather we’ve been experiencing.

This has got us looking forward to spring and to welcoming more visitors through our doors to enjoy a countryside escape! If you’re planning on visiting The H Boutique Hotel to explore the walking delights of the Peak District National Park, here are our four of our spring walk recommendations.

The Haddon Estate

Believe it or not but the beautiful Haddon Hall sits just a stone’s throw away from The H Boutique Hotel, meaning you can begin your walk at our very doorstep! A round walk to Haddon is only six miles, meaning there’s plenty of time for you to combine it with an afternoon spent at the Hall itself.

The romantic nature of Haddon Hall makes this a lovely afternoon for couples looking to explore.

The walk to Haddon Hall and back to The H Boutique Hotel is a 6 mile round walk.

Birchen Edge

One of the most well known places to explore in the Peak District is the Chatsworth Estate. This seven mile round walk allows you to take in the breathtaking site of one of the country’s most treasured stately homes, alongside the hunting tower, Birchen Edge, and Dobb Edge.

This walk covers many different terrains, including footpaths, woodland trails, steps, and fields, so pack some sturdy shoes.

The H Boutique Hotel is located 4.5 miles away from Chatsworth House.

Mam Tor

Another famous Peak District walk is a trek up ‘the shivering mountain’, Mam Tor. This is an excellent walk if you’re looking for some spectacular sights, with views spanning much of the Peak District National Park—on clear days it’s possible to see out as far as Manchester!

With such picturesque views you won’t want to forget your camera for this one.

The H Boutique Hotel is a 30 minute drive from Mam Tor.

Longshaw Estate

The Longshaw Estate spans across 1600 acres of land. This is another area where you can take in incredible views, this time of Derwent Valley. There is also a visitor centre along the route, where you can take a short rest for refreshments if you wish.

With the popular Longshaw Tea Rooms on site, you’ll want to skip on the pack-up and indulge in home baked goods on this occasion!

The H Boutique Hotel is just under 10 miles from the Longshaw Estate, roughly a 20 minute drive.

Plan your walks in more depth and discover new routes alongside those we’ve suggested on the Visit Peak District website.
